Mainly because you have to save the files in your Dropbox folder, and it won't backup other files on your computer. I use Mozy for online backups, and have been very happy with it. With 200 GB backed up from 3 computers, Mozy just works. Dropbox is good for what it does, but I wouldn’t use it for online backups.
