i too found myself completely lost / bored with google wave.

i'm thinking...it's because no one else i know or chat with regularly uses it (ala the first days of gmail). i'm sure in the future when they open it up a bit that it will take off.

now i'm not saying that all the added features will be of any use to anyone or if people really care to be logged into a web page all day JUST to converse with people on gw but we'll see. i'm thinking...even if i have three people to "wave" to...i wouldn't bother.

kinda like twitter....who really cares?

I agree with everything said with one addition and one reservation. In addition, I'll just say this: try using it WITHOUT Google Chrome since most of the world will. In reservation, I do believe its adoption will grow significantly over time as new, young, web savvy users join the party. It's just a little ahead of its time and quite unpolished.

I'm really surprised how bad Google Wave is. I used it for the first time on Friday, with 3 other people, and it is confusing more than anything else. I'm really not sure what this tool is supposed to help me accomplish. And yes, the editing of other people's messages was just plain weird.

Naturally they might fix some of these, but many of them are considered core *features* by the Wave team - if they are removed, it loses differentiation from email, making it even more irrelevant.

Not likely that these will stay "fatal flaws" forever. Keep in mind that if it looks like it's made by programmers for programmers, it's because we have access to a very early developers' preview of the service. By their usual standards, I wouldn't even call this a "beta," their discontinuation of that term aside.
